dr. sears pineapple (NOT under the sea)

i really really really like this product.

this product is fantastic if you have toddlers, older kids who are picky eaters, or husbands who have never quite grown up.  the stem of the pineapple can be placed in the fridge, and will keep dips like yogurt or peanut butter cold (and we all know how much kids love to dip). the pineapple compartment is great for all kinds of foods for your little.  and every day can be different, so even picky eaters will be a little adventurous just because this plate is fun.  it's great for picnics, school or for around the house when you're afraid your kid might die of starvation because they're on day 18 of a hunger strike.

pros:

  • it's great for picky eaters, because it gives them as much variety as you put in the sections.
  • awesome for picnics and school lunches.
  • there are 6 compartments  for food, and 3 for dips.
  • the dip compartment is insulated and stays cold.
  • the tray is two pieces, so you can leave dips at home if you don't want the mess.
  • there are lids for each compartment.
  • what kid WOULDN'T want to eat out of a pineapple?

cons:
  • the lid isn't the most dependable lid there ever was. sometimes it *gasp* leaks.
  • only the dip compartment is insulated, so the main compartment will need to be kept cool if you put say, hot dogs in it.
  • i would walk, not run with this product in tow.  i've had the lid pop off once or twice, but that was only because my toddler was vigorously shaking the lunch bag while i was tying the boy's shoe.

tips, tricks, need to knows:
  • when rinsing your pineapple, make sure your faucet water isn't set to niagra falls. the way it's shaped, it sprays.  like washing spoons, just pay attention.

i would DEFINITELY recommend this product to my buddies.
